Grants from Lighthouse

Our grants focus on three impact areas: access to affordable housing, eliminating food insecurity, and supporting education. We know the importance of the good you do in our communities. Let’s partner up and make change.

Qualification guidelines

The Lighthouse Credit Union Foundation funds not-for-profit organizations as defined by section 501(c) 3 of the IRS Tax Code. To be considered for a grant, your organization must be:

  • Tax exempt under 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. You will be asked to provide your EIN number.
  • Aligned with our areas of support – affordable housing, food insecurity, and accessible education.
  • Based in New Hampshire or in the counties of York and Cumberland in Maine.
  • Non-discriminatory – including race, religion, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation and/or national origin

    Eligibility Requirements

    Please keep in mind that our foundation does not fund endowment campaigns, individuals or individual projects, religious organizations, political causes or candidates, or reduction or liquidation of debt.

    All general applications will be subject to approval from the Lighthouse Credit Union Foundation Board of Directors. The duration of the review process may vary and is determined by the Board’s schedule. It is the Board’s intent to meet regularly to review grant requests. Please take this into account if your request has a deadline and submit it in advance to allow for ample time.

    The Lighthouse Credit Union Foundation funds not-for-profit organizations as defined by section 501(c) 3 of the IRS Tax Code. The following is a list of eligibility requirements that your organization must meet in order to be considered for sponsorship from Lighthouse Credit Union:

    • Organization must be tax exempt under 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. You will be asked to provide your EIN number.
    • Available on an annual basis to nonprofits who align with our areas of support
    • Organization must be based in New Hampshire, or in the counties of York and Cumberland in Maine.
    • Organization must be non-discriminatory – including race, religion, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation and/or national origin

    Funding was used to purchase iPads and laptops for children battling cancer and other serious illnesses, keeping them connected to their classrooms, family and friends. We truly appreciate all the support, hard work and dedication our friends at Lighthouse provided us.
